Located at Seine mouth, gate to Rouen and Paris, this quite village of fishermen became a strategic point, fortified, during the Hundred Years War.
Honfleur was also a departure port for important maritime expeditions, and became a very famous town at the XIXth century, when it became the cradle of Impressionism movement.
